Smile Jumping thru the hoops also

Voldoll,

I am also in the process of appointments. I have a sleep study appointment scheduled nest Tuesday, and then 5 different ones on May 8th. and 9th. Then all the results go to the doctor and hopefully I will be scheduled for the surgery soon after. Hopefully we can go thru this together with the help of all the great Losers on this site. That sounds bad but everyone knows what I mean. Good luck and keep jumping thru the hoops to reach your goal.

Default jumping, jumping

Debs,
It seems like such a long process, doesn't it? I went to both classes yesterday and have my LAST appt. next Tuesday to turn in my "homework" to the dietician and then it all should be said and done. I think that going thru this together sounds like a good ideal. We are both going thru the same thing at about the same pace. Keep ,e posted on your "hoops" and I'll do the same.

Here's to a new beginning!!!

Wink Onward & downward

Voldoll,

My weight now is 257, give or take a pound or two. The goal weight I want for myself is around 150, maybe a little less. Will you have to do the liquid diet for a week before the surgery. It seems like a lot of people on the site had to. The surgeons that will be doing mine do not require that. I wonder why???? I go back and forth between being excited about it and then scared. I hope that is normal.

Have a good day,
Debs

Default Hi Debs

Hi Debs,
My weight is 211 at this time, I should be around 135 and hope to be soon. I have a 2 week preop diet and then a 2 day liquid diet to do. ANd like you sometimes I'm excited and other times I'm scared. My internet will be down sometime this week and won;t be up for a couple of days, I'm switching providers. I'll keep in touch til then and let you know when it comes back up. Thanks for being there!

Question whose had or is going to have what?

I'm being discouraged by my family, although I'm just in the researching process and won't attend the actual seminar until May 5th, I would love to hear more from those of you who have done or are going to have a procedure. The lap band sounds like it's so much better, surgery wise, but the concern, in any kind of weight loss surgery, is the fear of going through the procedure but then gaining back the weight. It does sound like the program works on every aspect in order to succeed. But damn, every thing I've done and lost on I always gained back and then some. It would mean so much to me to have the support of my mom and sister, so I hope I can get some answers on here.
Thanks so much. Trying to get psyched and motivate.

voldoll, When do you think your surgery will be schedulled for. I'm hoping I can have mine by June 15th. My daughter is expecting her first baby on July 15th. and I want to feel good enough to be in the delivery room. If I can't get it scheduled by then I will have to wait until later in the year. One of my surgeons is also expecting a baby in late August so I am really trying to get everything done. Hopefully we will be able to have them done about the same time. Misery loves company, i guess. I will be talking to a man who had the surgery about a year ago at my daughters this evening. Will let you know tomorrow how he is doing.

Medyum, Welcome, and hope you find all the answers your looking for . There are a lot of supportive people on this site. I have certainly learned a lot from all the people on here that have been thru it. Voldoll and I are in the process of pre-op appointments and approval. Its great to be able to talk to someone going thru the same thing.

Sharing and having support from others who know and understand is the best way to help me cope. I'm looking forward to actually attending the support group meetings so I can meet people in my area and develope relationships.

voldoll, I talked to the guy last night. He had the surgery on Sept. 28, 08. He has lost 100lbs. so far and has not thrown up one time. He has of course had the feeling like it was going to come up. But learned early on to chew slowly and stop before he felt full. He also said he can eat about anything he wants but just in very small portions. His only regret is that he waited so long to have it done. He looks great, and only has about 35lbs. to go.

Medyum, support is the big thing that I think we all need in this journey. Hopefully your Mom and sister will see how much you want this and become your biggest supporters.
