Question Just Beginning in Kentucky

Hi everyone! My name is Vicki. I am just starting to research having the lap-band procedure done. A couple of women where I work had the procedure last year which inspired me to try to do something with my own weight one more time on my own. It seems like I have been on a diet of some kind for the last 20 years, and this last attempt was about the same. I manage good for a couple of weeks, then something happens and i'm stuck back in the same place or sometimes even worse.

I want to do this, and have thought about it for over 3 years now. I keep thinking to myself... you should be able to do this on your own. At 295 pounds its pretty evident that I can't. I'm nervous about having the procedure done, and keep putting it off........ but NOW IS THE TIME.
I need all the help, support I can get as I start this journey.

A little more about me. I'm 36 years old and have been married since the age of 16. I started gaining weight after I got married, and had trouble trying to get pregnant as a result of my weight. Thankfully 3 years ago God granted my biggest wish and sent me Hailey. She is a beautiful 3 year old that is my pride and joy. The year and half that it took to finalize her adoption added another 50 pounds to my already overweight body. I work full time as a Engineering Assistant in a Automotive Factory, so I am up on my feet alot. I love to hunt and fish. I want to be able to keep up with my daughter and able to play without becomming tired. I want to be a role model to her, and I feel that my weight is starting to get in the way of that. I know there is a different person inside of me, it seems that weight changes your personality, or at least how you let yourself be perceived. Well as you will soon realize, I can be quite a rambler. Thanks to everyone in advance for all your help.

Vicki
