Hey there Vickilyn I had my procedure done by Dr. Dyer he is in the same practice as Dr. Olsen . I dont think I have heard a bad word about the entire practice. I think people just have a tendency to go to the doc that gives their seminar. I LOVE Dr. Dyer and a that whole staff they have been so supportive and they are just a sweet group of people. You can look them up on the net under the Centennial center for the treatment for obesity... I can't say enough to let you know how glad I am that I made that choice..... good luck

Default Attended Seminar

Just doing a little update... When I last posted I was just thinking about starting the steps about having surgery. This saturday I attended a Seminar at Centennial with Dr Dyer. After listening to the seminar i'm more determined than ever to see this through. I think at first I was scared of the mortality rates and such for the surgery, but after asking a few questions to Dr. Dyer and his personal success rates and the rate of mortality at the clinic, it has eased my fears some.
The seminar and what information packets I recieved has made me change my mind from the lap band procedure to the RYGBP. I have already started the process of gathering what information I think my insurance may need and hope to fax it this next week. Keep your fingers crossed please that my insurance process is speedy and successful.

Talking Thanks!!

I want to thank everyone for all the encouragement. I don't know why it is but when you tell friends and family members of your decision to have this surgery done it is met with less than enthusiasm, at least that is how it is on this end. I recieved my letter today showing what my insurance will cover (if i meet all the requirements) and it looks like financially this should be no problem. I was in a car wreck back last year and have paid my deductible for this year already and almost all of my out of pocket except like 400 dollars. So now just waiting for Doctors to get my medical records together and get them sent and I should be good to go. I am hoping to maybe put off the surgery until September because I have used all my FMLA leave up until that time. Anyways, I'm starting to ramble........BUT IM SO EXCITED!!!

Once you commit to the decision, it is VERY exciting! I felt so good about my decision after going to a seminar. Everybody tells you these horror stories, but my surgeon had excellent statistics, so that eased my mind a lot. Congrats on making the decision and getting started.
