Hello again all,
I am now 2 weeks post op and 28lbs lighter. things are going pretty good, a little depressed because food used to be my comfort and I cant eat, but I am getting through. Does anyone have a problem eating salad? When I can have it I sure woure love some.

Default Great!!!

Fabulous at two weeks already, for me salads would have been way to soon at two weeks, they would have become stuck and made me miserable. Better to stay with the eating plan at this time that your bypass team should have presented you with.
I know that it can become boring to eat the same things and that missing some of our old food friends can happen, but believe me this time will pass and avoiding problems along the way if you can will pay off for a better experience.
Wishing alot of good success these first weeks and on throughout your journey.

Lettuce does not do too well in my pouch. Seems to go through quickly with little digestion at all. The doc warned me not to eat any raw fruits or veggies for the first 6 to 9 months since they are hard to digest.

I am 11 weeks out and can eat lettuce. I do have occasions where it will go through me fairly quickly but for the most part I do ok with it.

I would not try it so early out wait until you are eating normal foods.

I suffered from self-induced food paranoia. Which is to say I was so afraid of breaking the stiches, or rupturing the pouch that I stayed on liquids for three weeks, and then the soft foods for another month and half. I could absolutely visualize the pouch just breaking under the strain of 'too much' so I followed an evenmore restrictive plan. My fear of tearing it was larger than my desire for real food.

But I believe I didnt have salad until about four months out. Because of my surgeon saying the same thing about fruits and veggies.
