I forgot to tell you a little about ME! I am a Breast Cancer Survivor-8 years now! I am 47 years old and want to get healthy and beat the odds, family odds of dying young from a massive heart attack or stroke. I have always had to fight with the weight thing, but ever since having cancer and all the problems that went with the treatments, I have not been able to take off any weight or keep it off.

My insurance is TRICARE and I am retired US Air Force! Thank goodness the Medical Center at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX has a terrific Bariatric Clinic and I am sooooooooooo impressed with my surgeon! I have heard such wonderful things about him and I am very fortunate to have him, since he is leaving the US Air Force in April!

Any advice or comments are welcomed! I look forward to hearing from YOU!

Hey there Nancy....glad to see you joined us. I'm here in San Antonio too....hubby is Active. I had to go downtown for my surgery cause I was too big for their guidelines on the base. I've heard nothing but good things about Dr. Bowers.....I'm coming up on my one year anniversary and am down 193 lbs already! You can do this...keep us posted and let me know if you need anything...hugs!

Thanks so much for welcoming me! I am a bit nervous and excited all at the same time, but I imagine that is normal. I am having my surgery at WHMC and I work at BAMC...but being retired Air Force I am very comfortable at WHMC. I have had several surgeries there and I feel very fortunate to have Dr. Bowers. I will try to post as soon as I am able when I get home from the hospital. By the way--CONGRATS on how well you have done and you look beautiful!
