Default Hi, Autumn From San Diego

Hi,

I'm Autumn Sandeen from San Diego. I had gastric bypass on February 12th at the VA Hospital in La Jolla, California. (I'm a 20-year Navy Retiree; I was awarded a 100% VA disability rating, service connected.)

For background information, my peak weight was 296 lbs, my pre-surgery weight was 256 lbs, and current weight is 249. My goal weight is 165 -- I'm 5'10", and actually am big boned, and have a long torso. Big boned & long torsoed doesn't explain 296 lbs though.

I live with my two kats Maggie and Bon-Bon. They are great post-surgery buddies.

Welcome Autumn59,

You'll find so many great people on this forum...and quite a few jokesters too! I totally understand your statement above regarding being big boned. Bones can only be sooo big, right? LOL Heck, my bones would need to be the size of a baby dinosaur to be at pre-op weight and be healthy!

Hi Autumn:
It sounds like you are doing fantastically, although I'm sure it hasn't been without some struggle and difficulty too...I'm new, new, new to all this, but just wanted to check in.
I really loved your quotation from Dr. King! And I look forward to getting to know you better.
