Introducing myself
Hi Everyone,
I am new to this site. Like most of you I have struggled with my weight for my entire life. My family's DNA stinks as well. All of the women in my family have heart disease and diabetes and my mother recently died from these diseases at what I consider a young age (65).
In spirit I am a thin energetic person. Many of the activities I used to take joy in are now difficult for me because of low energy and chronic joint pain.
I am scheduled for surgery April 9, 2007. I am very excited and motivated. I am self financing as my insurance will not pay.
I'm looking forward to participating on this forum.

Hi Tracy! Congrats...my name is Tracy too....I would suggest you learn and keep learning. I thought I had enough info and last night I went to my first support group and learn so much more.

Your date will be here before you know it! Then your TT family will scooch over on the losers bench to make room for both you and Tracy.
I totally understand that family DNA can suck. Though I have to admit being obese is my own bad genes! All the issues I had none of my family has experience, except for HBP and high cholestorol which both parents had experienced but they were quite a bit older when they were diagnosed.

Goodluck with the waiting for the op... my surgery is May 6 so a good month after you. I'm self pay too... nothing like money to force you into being disciplined!!
