Default Moving ahead with LapBand :) - any advice?

Hi all! I'm new. Been up and down weight-wise for years, after my daughter went to college and I've divorced, decided it was time for "me". So I have been through the red tape and my LapBand is scheduled for Monday Feb 4! I am so excited! I would like to hear some feedback from those who have recently had it - feelings and food wise. I would really appreciate a friendly word of wisdom

Hi Jena - my surgery is the day after you - on FAT TUESDAY!

I'm having roux-en-y... not too many lap banders here, but I'm guessing someone will show up to help with your questions and concerns!

BEST WISHES!

Welcome Aboard!

I've had lap gastric bypass not the lap-band but wanted to welcome you to our forum. I know there are a few lap-banders and I'm sure they'll post their experiences soon!

Good luck!

Hi
I had a Mid Band put in last week on the 16th Jan in the UK, I was released the next day after various tests. The Doc said I would have very little restriction until my first fill which will be in about 5 weeks. I have not felt very hungry just eating soups and nutrition drinks, I go onto softer food in a week. My wounds have healed fine (no problem there), since pre-op diet I have lost about 16lbs I put on about 5lb last week but I was told that was because of surgery, swelling and fluid, and of course gas, but it has all gone now. Thank goodness. I found the worst thing so far has been the pain from the gas they use to pump you up, as it is not in your stomach it takes ages to find a way out, and this causes shoulder pain. But pain killers do ease it.
All in all I am looking forward to this journey.
Good luck with your op, I'll answer any questions if i can.

Sue
