Hello all, I've been recently approved for the Lap Band surgery. I have 2 different insurances. Medicaid and Cigna. With Cigna they require a 6 month diet watch from your doctor. Does Medicaid also require this? Are there any Surgeons in The southeast that accept Medicaid for this surgery? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks

I believe Centennial Center for the Treatment of Obesity in Nashville accepts Mediciad. There are a few in Nashville that do. Welcome to the board...you will learn a great deal here.

Your best bet is to call Medicaid and ask them directly what they require. The requirements can be different in all 50 states! Good luck!
