Lot's of questions! That's good. Hopefully some of my posts fell into your "stupid" category. I don't want to get too serious. Ha Ha!

OK... on to the questions...

Both my wife and I had the surgery about the same time. Jane had high blood pressure and diabetes. Both of those went away completely after the surgery. Jane also stopped snoring following surgery. (Sorry Jane ) I did not have those conditions, but had back, knee, and foot pain that went away.

Skin elasticity (or the lack thereof) is an issue for us. Age is obviously the biggest factor. We have not found or heard of anything (other than surgery) that really helps tighten the skin. If you find something, let us know.

Sex life: Ummm... Well... It is much better.

Welcome to the forum!!! I'm sure you will find a lot of answers here.

Hi, and welcome to the forum.

For specific answers to health issues, you can use the search feature in the links above the forum, putitng in specific words that reflect your concerns, and up will pop many health issue posts.

Now, I'm an old lady, BUT now my husband flirts with me, tells me I'm pretty, makes me feel wonderful - this from a man who does not do compliments (giving or receiving).

It will be more than how you look - it will be how you feel ---- health and general well being and ego. At 67 I have totally changed my daily life, am far more active, enjoy life. Previous to surgery I was in a wheelchair with severe degenerative lumbar spine disease (loss of weight and physical therapy has caused the pain to disappear).

I am fortunate to have family and friends who love me no matter what, but the fact is I always entered a room wondering if I was the fattest woman in it. Frequently I was. Nobody else looked at me that way, I'm sure. It's how I felt about myself. It feels good to be a normal size where those issues are not issues for me any longer. I went from a size 22 to a size 8, and will probably get to a 6. My stomach looks like cottage cheese, but my husband tells me that he likes cottage cheese, so that's ok!! I'm too old for bikinis anyway!

The best of luck to you!

Yes, Vim! My motivation for this journey began with finding an answer for the excruciating pain. It is, therefore, what I think of first, when I look at my journey and how I feel now. I truly am grateful.

I see that you have requested a number from John in the Gym Rats Unite thread in Exercise. We all do different things, but those who (generally speaking) are considered a gym rat (a fine distinction, I might add) are those who exercise regularly. For me it is aquajogging in the local Aquatic Center. I have pushed it now to give times a week (started at 3) since I am eager to lose 4 lbs by December 2 so that I can celebrate 100 lbs of weight loss on our planned cruise to the Caribbean. Everyone finds their own must fun way of exercising, an important element in the entire picture. Exercise was, incidentally, a loathesome task for me, and now I am so glad that I have found something I just love to do.

The very best of luck to you!!!

YES, you qualify as a gym rat, for sure!!! But John is the ultimate decision maker. You will need to tell him (on his thread) that you do the above regularly, and as you do it that you are focusing on your own exercise.

Wow, great family of athletes!

Congratulations on getting your date. When is your surgery? You and I are very close n starting and goal weight!! How tall are you (in inches/feet)?
