curious.. you had the Gastric in June of 06 and you are pregnant. What were the concerns re the pregnancy? are there any? Also, were you PCOS and having trouble before the weight loss with getting pregnant? I do not mean to be so intrusive, but I am PCOS going to be 36, infertility is a problem.. and diabetes. I am contemplating the sugery but have been told that it will be like 2 years before I could even try to get pregnant.. does this sound familiar to anyone here? CONGRATS TO ALL OF YOU ON THE WEIGHT LOSS!

I had a baby after GBS I was a little of a year out of surgery when I got pregnant and had a very healthy baby boy. There was no real concern with the pregnancy, they just montiored me closely to make sure I was gaining the proper weight. I also was diagnosed with PCOS before surgery and had no trouble after losing 100lbs...I know alot of doctors want you to wait 18-24 months after surgery to become pregnant because they feel your weight stabilizes by then but you will see on this site there are people who have had babies before that. Good Luck in your research!

Diagnosed PCOS right before surgery? Did you have infertility issues for a long period of time? Do you know if you ovulated on your own prior? I am sorry for so many quesions, but have nothing else going on in my mind but... should I GBS or infertility with the diabetes and weight... what a decision! Congrats on your little boy!

It wasn't right before surgery that I was diagnosed with PCOS. They said I had it for quite some time but I did have children and as I put the weight on my infertility and PCOS worsened along with other things. Yes, I was ovulating as I did have 3 children but that was before I had hit my highest weight. My first 2 children I wasn't obese it slowly climbed there after. It is a big decision to make and my only suggestion is to research and find what is right for you. There is lots of good information on this site!
