Default Discouraged..

I am going on three weeks post op (lap band) and I have lost only 1lb this week, total of 17 from my surgery date of August 28th. I have not ate a whole lot so I thought the weight would be flying off me. My mom who bypass and a nurse told me that maybe my body is in shock and eventually it will start coming off. My doctor told me with the lap band to expect a 1-2 lb weight loss. I have not had a fill yet, and I won't get one for another 3 weeks. It just makes me sad because when I dieted and did WW I would loose anywhere from 3-7 lbs a week, and I thought with the surgery it would be easier. I guess I just have to be patient.. But I am following my plan... Sorry for the babbling..

Default Dear Discouraged....

You are not alone, my surgery date was 9/5 so far I've only lost about 8lbs no more no less. I began excercising too and don't really see much of the results. My first fill will be on Oct. 9. I hope this helps because Dr. said stomach only holds about 4 oz yet I can eat a yougurt of about 8oz and feel normal. So I will be joining your boat.

I know it's easy to become discouraged. We've gone to drastic measures to assure that we will lose weight. Keep doing what you know is right. Our bodies do go into some sort of 'defense' mode right after surgery, so allow a little time...get into healthy habits, and it will come off.
