Hi Mike!
I wanted to jump in and say hello, and I also wanted to give you some hope regarding excruciating back pain issues.
I had been in and out of a wheel chair for the better part of 10 years with spinal stenosis (disks slipping and touching nerves causing a lot of pain). I had been going to a pain management specialist (doctor) who, long story short, told me that the ONLY way to relieve the pain is to lose at least 50 lbs and have a spinal fusion - or possibly physical therapy might help (worth a try). He agreed that this is easier said than done, and it was the doctor who pointed me toward weight loss surgery.
After losing 35 lbs, I went for physical therapy for four weeks, 3 times a week (and I continue to do it at home daily), and after those four weeks, an 50 lbs weight loss, I was pain free. And still am. I coudln't walk across the room without pain, and now I can walk for miles.
Of course, everyone is different, and there are never guarantees, but I wanted to give you my own form of encouragement as you pursue your journey. Your quality of life will totally improve in many ways, including pain issues in your back.
Best regards,
