Default Hi from sunny London!

Hi all!

Have been watching this site for some time and have been very encouraged by everyone - thanks so much. I am totally bright eyed and bushy tailed excited about scheduled lap RNY on 1st October - yabbadabbadoo! (imaginary cartwheeling around room...). I just can't wait to be a total Loser and have downloaded a free countdown timer onto computer and there are exactly 31days, 10hrs, 38mins and 55secs left to D-Day!

Excited...Moi?!!

Have done loads of research and, amongst other sites, have been inspired by the following website and their 'before and after' gallery http://www.wlsinfo.org.uk/gallery/browseimages.php?c=3.

Q - I have read a bit about weird smells etc - pleeeease let me know if you know of any longer-lasting odour issues after surgery - sorry to be a bit below the belt - but don't really want to be a smelly person - no, no, no - eeeyew!

Soon to be a Bruges Babe (hey, Aphrodite and Shereeks - waving!! - )

Cheers
Trinket

Trinket, welcome to our little family! It sounds like you are going into this well informed, that's great. As for the smells, it is generally ketosis (sp) and with me it was gone after a couple of weeks. It is your body getting rid of all the toxins that it is not storing any longer. I was bathing twice a day and sucking sugar free mints til I thought my tongue would fall out. It the bigger picture it was a very minor problem and one that passed quickly.
Don't be shy, there is nothing that you can't ask or speak about here!
Good luck on your journey, but remember to hang on tight cause it's a wild ride! Keep us posted.

Hi Trinket,
Welcome.
As Pam said, after a short while, most of us don't smell bad! Hope you'll stick around and share your journey with us!

Thanks for the welcome everyone and I'm glad to hear that there are no major 'odour' worries - phew! I was getting a bit worried about that - I'd imagined all sorts...

You've all done so well and Maline from Spain - Hi! - OMG you've done exceptionally well since June - that is one hell of a weight loss. I bet people around you are totally amazed! I hope all is going well for you and you are coping OK with the food out there. Thanks to you and lindsey78 too! for the reassurance about Dr Dillemans - I am really looking forward to meeting him and his team.

Cheers to all.

Hello and welcome from the colonies!

Sunny London? Isn't that a contradiction in terms?

Nah, you don't seem at all excited, you hold it so well.

Do you have to go thru a liquid diet or anything before your surgery? Do you know if your having laproscopic or open?

Congrats on your date, and your excitement!
