Hi LisaM - great to hear about your fond memories of England. What a small world! I remember a bunch of us visiting Lakenheath regularly back in 1986/7 because a friend was dating one of the Officers there. What a wild time we all had in the clubs on site - all good clean fun of course! - I must say the American soldiers were very gentlemanly and once even got together and prepared a beautiful picnic for us. Needless to say my friend ended up marrying the Officer and the wedding - in Bury St Edmunds - was a great laugh too. I remember wearing a silver wrap-round wet-look dress bright pink lipstick and had the most shocking curly perm - soooo 80's! Them were th'days...eh?

Also, lindsey78 I think your weight loss has been really good. It looks like some people do lose it quicker than others but, take it from a pre-opper, I'd be ecstatic to be doing as well as you!

Q. I don't know if I should be posting questions on another thread or here so please, let me know if I should be going elsewhere - anyway, another thing that has been bugging me is taking the vitamin supplements. My question is whether taking the vitamins orally risks them being mal-absorbed due to the bypass anyway? How do we get round that one?
It is a small world, yes? My husband and I (both Americans) got married at Lakenheath RAFB base chapel a little before your time--1980--then had the reception at The Bull in Mildenhall. Lots of fond memories.

And on your question regarding supplements, what we do is take extra. I take double multivitamins plus extra Vitamin A, Selenium, calcium and B12. All you Brugge babes, does Dr. D. do a vitamin/supplement lecture for you lot? If he does, then you should follow his directions.

Oh Shereeks - you're a cheeky one just because you fit on all the rides now doesn't mean we will (YET!!!)

But I'm definitely up for it - going now will just encourage me more to meet up for a reunion when I can fit too

As I'm having my surgery at the end of this month and will then probably be out of action for a good couple of weeks (as far as Alton is concerned) I suggest we make it a Nov/Dec 2007 get together - as soon as I am back from surgery and up to it I will get my Organiser's Hat on and post a link with some suggestions and all the details - unless you want to start organising in the meantime Shereeks (you might be the better one, being our resident Travel Agent, to arrange such an outing - I'm presuming with overnight stay, etc?)?

Let me know...

Wow Aphrodite, I can see that you can get things done pretty pronto and that you'll do really excellent with this surgery! I know where to come for inspiration!
Me....I was thinking more like next year when the surgery has settled in and the weather is warmer (Nov/Dec..... Brrrr?!) but then again, being a bit of a hippy chick, I'm always putting things off! I reckon to hold this space till we get the defo A-OK after Dr D!

Can't wait though...

Cheers all

Yeah I'm thinking I could book us all into the Alton Towers hotel at cost price, stay a night and have a wild wild day in the theme park! Sounds great to this theme park addict!

I reckon something like May/June would be perfect, a little warmer, no school holidays and for those of you having your ops in September/October you will sure as hell be skinny enough by then to go on ALL the rides!

Should be able to get alton towers hotel and 1 day park pass for about £60-£70 if we're happy to share rooms.

And Gwen, we could drive up together and have a bit of a laugh en-route!

Default Hey Trinkett

Im a Prague Babe!

Just been done and in week one going through the ketosis and thirst monster thing !! Am drinking loads of low calorie juice per day (3 litres) and chew gum for about 20 seconds until I get paranoid about swallowing it !!

Good luck with yours. Think we've got a Brit thing going at the moment, had a significant increase in numbers recently - we ought to arrange a Lap Band Night !!!!

That sounds fantastic Sheree!!! and you are right - by then we will fit too

When will we have to start booking?

Perhaps you'll have to start our very own Brugge Babe Thread with all the details so that all the UK/Ireland/Europe skinnies can start looking forward and plan ahead
