Welcome. The not eating and drinking has been so hard for me. I had my GB 3 weeks ago and this has been my biggest struggle.
Best tip I have for you is to stay positive and focus on proteins and water.

Welcome to the board and best wishes on your journey! You can do it......just look ahead and keep your eyes on health as the goal. BTW, I too work in social services with people with disabilities.

Good luck to you. I met with my surgeon for the 1st time today. I'm very lucky. I don't have to do a diet or anything. Just the usual pre-op blood work & x-rays.

First, welcome to the board! Second, not drinking while eating isn't that hard if you slow down and chew well. I used to shovel, chew and swallow at the same time then had to drink something to push it all down. Slow down, savor your food, take smaller bites, chew well and just don't make a beverage available while eating. If it's there on the table you're more likely to forget and drink.
In the long run you will be sabotaging your weight loss and possibly your pouch by drinking while eating. Do you really want to go through all you have or will be going through just to have it fail because you drank and ate at the same time?
Good luck on your journey!
