Good luck to you, wish I could help. Maybe call the doctor and ask him.

First, welcome! I have not seen any other people posting from Spain, but evidently Dr. Dillemans in Belgium is one busy man! We have around a half dozen people who frequent the forum regularly who either have had the surgery by Dr. Dillemans, or who are about to have surgery by the good doctor. Unfortunately for your purposes, they are all from the United Kingdom. I do hope you find the information you need about local foods and support.

Hi Maline,
Welcome to Thinner Times. Most of us are not in Spain, but we're here for emotional support when you need us. The search function at the top of the page is great for searching specific info. Best of luck in your journey.

Default Welcome Maline!!

Hi there and welcome to the family!

I am also a newbie - only joined in July 2007 and still pre-opp.

I'm hopefully having my surgery late in September and I have chosen Dr Dillemans. If you are looking for others that's had their surgery with Dr D then search for Shereeks (UK); Bella (The Netherlands) to name but two.

As I know how intimidating this forum can be when you first start exploring it I thought I'd give all the newbies a few pointers as to the threads that made an impression on me:

Best Advice for Pre-Op - written and compiled by LisaM

Pouch Rules for Dummies - posted by Baron Patrick

Best Advice for Post-Op - written and compiled by LisaM

Best Food, Best Protein, etc. for Post-Op - compiled by LisaM

What Supplements are you on? - started by Jerrod24

The things people wish they had known beforehand - compiled by LisaM

I have also been asked to add the book "Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies" to this list, I have not read it myself but plan on ordering it via Amazon today - full review to follow shortly

Have a great time and I look forward to following your journey!

PS: If any of the "oldies" have any other threads to bring to our attention please let me know and I will add it to my list.

Hugs

Maline,
You are not forgotten! How are you doing, out there in Spain, all on your own?
Do you have any questions for us? Can we help you in any way?
How is your weight loss going? Are you feeling well?
Howis your body healing, scarwise? How were your 6 months blood tests? (I'm only 3 1'2 months out).
Best wishes and here's hoping we'll hear from you soon!
Cheers,
Vim

Its nice to meet you. Its great that we can meet folks from all around the world in here. How are the foods in spain are they spicey? I'm sure you will find some help in here just read the fprums. I know even here in states I have to cook at home to get what I like. Plus with the taste buds changing, finally I can taste again, I do not stay on anthing for long always get bored with a certain food then have to find something else to enjoy.
Welcome to forums.

Good to hear from you Maline!
Well done on your solitary weight loss follow up! It certainly is not easy and you are to be very proud of your achievements. Keep up the good work and drop us a line a little more often - the last 50 or so pounds are usually difficult to get rid of I hear. Just think how far you have come!
Happy Easter!
Best wishes!
Vim
