Default Would like to speak with someone

Hi:

My sister-in-law is thinking of having gastric bypass surgery and would desperately like to talk to people who have had the surgery. She does not have a computer so I said I would post a message and if anyone would like to talk to her, on the phone, could they please email me, directly to my email and I could pass on the phone number, etc. She would be most appreciative to speak with anyone. Thank you so much. Elaine. My email is:ehcheek@yahoo.com.

Default Sorry

I thought I was posting something new. I know I did the right thing. Haven't thought for a second I didn't. In fact, a lady from work finally had the courage to do it after seeing the results from my surgery. As a sister, I would encourage her and support her.

Hi there.. welcome to TT.. you'd probably get a bit better response to your posts if you created your own thread, rather than tacking your posts on to this one..

You'll want to look for the red button on the top left hand side of the screen where it say +new thread.

HTH.

Default Hi. New here and sure appreciate all the info...

Hi to everybody. Brand new here and I sure do appreciate all the information you all have here. I'm in the process of deciding about having wls at the VA and have already learned so much from reading a lot of your posts. I wasn't nearly as ready to go forward with this until I read them...especially the few negatives I could find. Weird huh?! Anyway, thanks and I'll be hanging around quite a bit.

Question HI All WLS 4/30/08

HI Everyone,

I am just alittle over three weeks out and feel pretty good. I have alittle trouble with the pureed food so can someone tell me if I am doing the right thing. (my appt. with surgon is 29th) I have a protein shake for breakfast, then sip on water for a while, lunch is abot a cup of soup, then more water. snack is a 6 oz yogurt. more water! then dinner is 3 tbls protein i.e ground chicken, fish, or cottage cheese. and 1 tbls. pureed carrots,or applesauce ect. more water. then around 8pm another shake.and then of course more water. I can't seem to eat the three meals that the dietitation recomends. I seem to get stomach pains after the soup and after dinner. I think it's gas. I did have a bout of constipation when I first went on pureed food but I upped my water and all seems ok now. Thanks to all I hope to figure out how to put my WL ticker on soon. My weight at surgery was 288. I'm 272 right now.

Thanks, Effie

Default Hi gang!! I just found this site!

Hi, my name is Carol, but most people call me beady!<BR>I had surgery in 2000, with Dr. O'Malley, in Rochester, NY. Unfortunately I have regained almost all of my weight! I found you all while looking for the support group that used to meet on Tuesday's at Parkridge Hospital. I am wondering if they still meet. If anyone know's, please let me know! Thanks, have a great day!

Carol/Beady, Hi!! And welcome to this forum!

You are the second person in a month who told me that they had weight loss surgery (in my friend's case, gastric bypass) in 2007, and gained it all back.

I am wondering which surgery you had.

My friend's explanation (she made no excuses) was that she wasn't educated as I was (we shared experiences) in the post-op time, and didn't get the support she needed.

I am hoping that your being here will help you. What do you consider to be your next step in your journey?

Best regards,
