Cool Another New Guy

Hi folks, my name's Bill and I am so glad I found you all last night. I am truly a newbie...I am in the sixth month of my insurance-mandated "prelude" and I really need to take off 100 lbs fairly quickly, as I am on NSAIDs for a bad hip and the surgeons won't give me a new hip until I get healthier and lose this fat. If I am learning anything about this whole process...it's the importantce of being both patient and persistent! I thank you all, for the great stuff I have been reading. Stayed up late last night reading about Mike Fisher's experiences and I surely do appreciate what you've suggested, Gwen. Heck, I appreciate all of you....Looking forward to getting to know you all better. Not currently a blogger, don't even have my own website...But I am feeling blessed to have found you. Recommended this site to staff at LifeWeigh Bariatrics in Downers Grove, IL, today...And then I sent stuff on the patient portal to let other folks know of you good people. Your wit and wisdom is fantastic.

I think not. I lurked for more than 6 months before joining the group...I wanted to know a little about the people who have become friends, before I jumped in to the fray. Any one who lurks for awhile can get the tone of what's going on here, and what's appropriate and what's not.

Default TT is an answer to a prayer!!!

I am brand new in a couple of ways. I just found your site today and I am post-op day 6 (only wish I would have found you sooner). I was really feeling isolated and having all sorts of terrible thoughts about whether I did the right thing since I came home from the hospital b/c of some of the things that were happening to me that no one warned me about. But since I found your forum this afternoon, I have been glued to the computer (no joke for hours & hours now) & have read so many of your stories. I truly have hope now. Thank y'all so much for taking the time to share your experiences and your time! I know that I did not exactly follow forum etiquette, and for that I apologize, but to go from the despiration & fear that I have felt for the past few days to knowing that there is hope again.....that is just so wonderful & I am one who believes in giving credit where credit is due. I look forward to reading and learning so much more from you all!

Gratefully yours,

April from Georgia

Talking Welcome April!

Dearest April

You followed the etiquette just fine - that is what THIS thread is for.

I am glad that you've found us and I know exactly what you mean - we've all felt the same and TT has been a huge comfort to many of us.

When you are on the next time - create your own Thread and introduce yourself so that the other can welcome you too.

Happy reading and happy posting.
