Hi everyone

I am new to Thinner Times. I came across this site in an attempt to find out if my insurance (I have Tricare & Aetna) covers lap band. However, I have found so much more than just that. I am glad I found TT because it has so much information on what to expect and so many encouraging stories of people who have had the procedure done. I can't wait to begin my journey to a healthier me!

Welcome, MAJJ! I'm glad you're finding your information here...there are lots of resources and more importantly great people who've taken the steps before us to provide some of the best input that can be found anywhere.

Smile Lapband after gastric bypass

I had GBS over 6 years ago, and never lost all the weight I had needed to, due medication I started taking 6 months out. Now I'm having the lapband done OVER the GB and was wondering if anyone online has had that done and how did it work out for you. Thanks

I think i found TTF looking for info on my insurance too lol. I am SO glad i did!!!! I have learned so much just from this forum. It is so great to see what people have gone through, how they've dealt with things, shopping lists. Every question i ask, or anything i post, someone replys with help within 20 mins. I was so afraid i would be over looked. but that first post, I was hooked ( I told them i found my new best friends) I am so grateful for all the info everyone has gathered on here. I am even more confident now, and know that through it all, i will always have someone that will understand, and someone that will care. I am single, and live alone, so support from anywhere is always a good thing.

So a BIG HUGE THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! to EVERYONE!!!!

Just starting this journey and learning about GBS. Had my informational session tonight with Dr. Newlin in Altoona. How cute is he? Anyhow, looking forward to learning as much as I can. He gave me lots to think about and explained all the hoops that I need to jump through for insurance. I expect to have surgery in June 2010!
