Peaceful Spirit is on a distinguished road
Default Hello from Alabama,

Hi everyone. I had my RNY surgery on April 14, 2009. I've lost 17 pounds since that time. From reading other people's posts it seems like the weight isn't coming off me very fast. Or am I expecting too much? I live in a very rural area with no support groups close by that I can talk things over with. So this seems like a great forum to belong to and learn from.

Is there anyone out there that is willing to help me set up my "signature page" etc. through private messages?

Have a great Memorial Day.

Talking Introducing myself...

Hello there everyone, my name is Kim. I live in PA. This is my first post although I've been reading and getting fantastic information from this site for a while. What an amazing wealth of knowledge you all have.

Tonight is my seminar appointment. The first step in a very long road to becoming the real me.

Smile Newbie in Lynn, MA!!!

Hello from Massachusetts!

My name is Betty, I am about 6 weeks post op. I have lost 40 pounds but want to lose a total of 100 or more if possible.
I have a son who is 16 and lives in KS with his father. He is one of my support team in the biggest way. He is my cheering section along with my mother who lives in CA.
With no one here in MA, it does get tough, but the hospital's weight center has a great support program.
So, I started at about 280 pounds. I was taking insulin shots (1 lantus shot plus humulog at each meal...ugh!) and was taking high cholestrol and high blood pressure meds too. I have since went to only 14 units of NPH (insulin) and no more pills!! The doctors say if I keep losing I will be able to get off of the NPH soon.
I hope to make lots of friends here.

Here's to a great new relationship.

Hi Betty, I had my surgery on 4-3-09 and am down about 40+ lbs too. You and I have similar stats and comorbidities.

I wish you lots of luck!!

Red face Great to be here!

Hello!

I am working out (30 minute power walk) every morning and for the past 4 days have not seen significant weight loss.
Everyone says it will come off, but since I have lost 40 pounds already I am beginning to wonder if this is it. If it is, it is very discouraging. I want to lose 100 pounds but now am not sure if I am going to reach that goal. Don't mean to be down in the pits, it's just that I have not worked harder physically to achieve weight loss before in my life.

Help!

Thanks everyone, please tell me this isn't the end!
