Default Welcome to TT

We hope to have an update on how your surgery went as soon as you're able to post again!!

Hi there and welcome to the family!

I am also a newbie - only joined in July 2007 and still pre-opp.

As I know how intimidating this forum can be when you first start exploring it I thought I'd give all the newbies a few pointers as to the threads that made an impression on me:

PS: If any of the "oldies" have any other threads to bring to our attention please let me know and I will add it to my list.

Default exactly 2 months out - BEST ADVICE:

BEST ADVICE: Be sure you take someone with you to the hospital. Don't stay alone. I found I needed comfort more than anything while I was there. Someone to hold my hand.

Also, wean off the caffeine and soda pop BEFORE surgery, so you aren't dealing with that along with everthing else. Lay in a good supply of SlimFast. I brought home some 1-ounce "cups" (medicine cups) from the hospital to measure my drinks out for the first few days. Remember: YOUR MOUTH IS BIGGER THAN YOUR POUCH. So take small swallows.

Good luck. You won't be sorry. I am so thrilled with my pouch. I have been obese for so long that I didn't remember what it was to be "normal"-sized - and am looking forward to crossing my legs when I sit; rising from a squat without pushing off on the floor; tying my own shoes; wearing my daughter's clothes; etc. etc.

Love to you all,

GrandmaRose

Hi GMRose.. not sure if you noticed that this thread is a year old! Not a big deal and I don't know if the original poster is even around anymore or not, lol..

5) Able to keep up with long legged fiancé on a 4+ mile walk

welcome aboard... 2 weeks is 7/14 (not 8/14)? congrats...

I am approved, but don't have a date yet (indeed, wanted to see a second surgeon and have not had my initial consult with him, so....)..

congrats and good luck!
