Hello from Upstate NY - ThinnerTimes

Hi everyone, I am Joanne from Upstate NY, I want to have Lap Band Surgery and I have been "lurking" around this site for more that a week now and found this is exactly what I need. I have an appointment with my PCP on Friday to go over the paperwork with me and then I will mail it off Friday night to my surgeon. I am so scared that I won't be accepted (not because I don't qualify) but because I want this so bad. It's because of all of you guys that I have the courage to go forward, I have been researching this for over a year and did not know how to move forward with this and/or what I would be getting myself into.
I need to give a huge "shout out" to "JenBear7", she has taking me under her wing and guided me in all the right directions. She has been wonderful support to me, more than what she knows, it's because of people like her, strangers feel welcome. It is because of JenBear7 that I am introducing myself, I would have never had the courage to do it if she did not coax me and again I thank her for that.
This won't be the last of me, I will let you all know how I make out on Friday.

I am glad you came out and introduced yourself.. I am hoping you get to do that for real at the next support meeting at the bariatric center. I am so excited that you are looking into it, and I will say again just how awesome Dr. Kim is!

Welcome to the forum family! There are some lapbanders here that I am hoping jump on and let you know their experiences.. since I had the RNY...

I am so excited for you... try not to worry too much (I Know this is easier said than done... ) You are going to get through it just fine.. the waiting IS the hardest part.. but, with you getting the paperwork in before your referral.. you are one step ahead..
