Smile Hello from Minnesnowta

Hi everyone, I've spent a few hours reading some of the topics in this forum and I like what I've read, so I thought I'd sign up and introduce myself.

I've been overweight all my life but I didn't really know that I was obese until I saw a lapband commercial on TV and signed up for a seminar at the local hospital for a bariatric seminar. I'm 5'7" and 280 lbs. BMI 43. I'm on blood pressure and cholesterol meds and I have sleep apnea. Woo hoo! Time to get'er done.

Anyway, I did my psychological computer test last week and my insurance covers it, so I'm on my way through the process. I don't see to many males posting on here, so I thought I'd put my 2 cents in. Any advice is certainly appreciated.

welcome to the board. Sounds like you are on the right track.. and there are a few males on here that are active posters... so you'll be in good company.

Default Welcome!

You seem to have a great sense of humor. You also seem to have a good attitude towards WLS. I'm sure you'll do great! Keep us posted on your upcoming surgery.

You're right, I'm happy go lucky, easy going but that doesn't hide my nervousness (just a little) for the WLS. I just hope I can cope afterwards with all the nutritional rules and guidelines. All I hear is, "if I can do it, you can too". So, that's the attitude I have to take.
