Smile Pre-op visits

Hello everyone,

This is newbie Denise, my surgery date is July 25th, I can't believe how fast the days are going by. I have my first pre-op visit on July 6th. I wish I did not have to resort to such drastic measure to lose weight, but I am tired of the struggle. I have been struggling with my weight for 20 year, done just about every weight lost program(jenny craig, slim fast, countless amount of diet pills, ect.), I would lose it and then gain it right back plus more, until now I am my highest weight ever.
I have several family and friends who support my decision to do the gastric bypass, however I have some family and friends who does not approve. I felt bad by their remarks, but I refuse to let it get me down, because afterall only I know what I've struggled with for my entire life when it comes to my weight.

Hi Denise, and welcome!

You will get a lot of unsolicited negative advice. Ignore it. My comment, when people say something that is contradictory to what I know to be true, I simply say "I appreciate your comments, I have made my decision, and I am deliriously happy ever since." If they wish you well, then they deserve your communication. If they don't, stay away from them. Guaranteed, when you lose what you want to lose, and stay thin, YOU will have the last laugh.

The proof is in the sugar free pudding!
