Talking how do I get involved on forum

Hi I am new to the forum, don't really know how to use it, how do u get to know others and feel like I fit in....I have a lap band, had it for nearly 3 yrs, am happy with it, lost 54 lbs slowly, sometimes have some problems but nothing serious, still have 20 lbs to go...want to talk with other folks and make friends....
