Default Hello

I think what you are feeling is very normal. I found out April 23rd that I was approved for surgery, which is on July 2nd. At first I found myself eating very carefully, and healthy. I never totally overdid it, as my surgeon told me I could not gain any weight between April 23rd and July 2nd. What I did do is select a few restaurants and foods that I wanted to eat prior to surgery. I started my liquid diet on June 18th (today is day 6 for me), and quite honestly it is going OK. I really am not hungry. For the most part I am satisfied because I know this liquid diet is for MY safety during surgery.

I had tried to get approval for RNY gastric bypass about a year ago, but was unsuccessful with my insurance. I had decided that either way, I was going to have surgery of some type, whether I had to pay for it or my insurance.

I was going to get the lapband because it was cheaper. In the end my insurance came through for me and I stuck with my original decision to do the gastric bypass RNY. For me I know that is the right choice.

Good Luck

Default Welcome Linda!

Congratulations on your date. Read as much as you can to be as knowledgeable as possible. Ask questions and share feelings. This is a wonderful board. You will do well if you keep your mind on the goal. Mine was to eliminate my health complications and an early death. Your goal may be similar or different, whatever it is, keep it in the forefront. I know this is possible for you, as it has worked for so many of us. Best wishes on your surgery and keep posting. We are glad you are here!
