Hi Angie,
I'd like to add my welcome wishes. The patients of Dr. Nohr who are members here are very active participants and will be very informative for you.
Best of luck with your journey!

Default Hey there Angie

I just had my surgery with Dr. Nohr and my process took about 3.5 years. If you have any questions please email me and I will do what I can or if you want you can call me anytime and I will do what I can to help. i know how hard it is in the begining especially when you dont have people around that have been there. Hang tough....Things will work out

Gina......OH MY, you were in the hospital on June 4th when I was there with Nohr having my panni surgery. I was bed bound until the Saturday, so I couldn't hunt down his other 7 patients on the floor. I was in 5 East.

You are only about 2.5 hours away from me, I am just on the other side of Dawson Creek in BC. Hope to see you around here more often and we can share stories...more and more Nohr patients are showing up here!

Just know that we have been where you are and can support you in any way you need...just ask.

Default What a small world Lisa

Yes I was there when you were....wow how wonderful. How are you doing?? How are you healing? I would love to know how things went for you. Just a quick question...Was it covered with the GB or did you have to go out and do your own thing? Just curious for when I have to get mine done. Wow I didnt know Nohr did that.
I am trying to think what area I was at the hospital. I think it may have been 5 East too. I walked around as much as I could as soon as I figure out what the hell I am doing I will post my picture.
Take care Lisa and please keep me posted on how you are feeling i would love to know. And if I am ever in Dawson Creek maybe we can meet up for blenderized chicken lol...Till then cheers

Oh one quick question. I am craving chicken cesar salad...will I ever be able to eat that or is it gone forever oh well I would rather look damn good in a pair of jeans
Cheers

To hear all about my journey, read under Personal Stories - Lisa's Story. Its a long one, but its how my life has been the past 18 months. Too bad I wasn't feeling better in the hospital. 3 others from here came down to Med Hat on the Sunday and we all met - you can see us under member photo's Carrie and Samm posted pics of us there...taken the day before our surgery.

All my surgeries were covered under insurance.

You probably walked past my room many a time..I was the first room in 5 East, next room was 5 west. All Nohr patients are on the same floor, either on east or west.

Ceasar Salad - Yup, I can have it. I didn't do salad for many months out from surgery. Key thing for me now with salad is to have it with protein. If I have on its own, it doesn't sit well at all. I have to have shrimp, chicken, cheese or have it as a side with steak or something.

I am one of the lucky ones that can eat alll good foods. Sugars to some degree, sugar alcohols and starchy carbs bothers me. Fats are fine.

I am sure reading my story will help you to understand what its been like for me.

Meeting one day would be great. I come to GP quite often to hit Costco and now shopping at Reitmans and then some sushi at the mall or the Goldon Star for Hot and Sour Soup!

I have new size 10 jeans waiting for me in the closet. I was wearing a 10/12 before panni surgery, with all my swelling, no chance of wearing them for a while!

Take Care...Lisa

Wow...R U kidding me...2.5 years. I thought my waiting was bad. I waited 6 mths to see my surgeon and he told me I have to wait till Feb for my operation . Only because the hospital that in getting the surgery in only has 7 O R s . Im in Ontario , and I can certainly understand your frustration !

Talking Cancellation came up

WOW....I got a call from Dr. Nohr's office on Thursday. There was a cancellation that came up so my original consult appointment scheduled for November 2009, has been changed to March 2008. That is only 7 1/2 months away...Finally a light is starting to flicker in the tunnel. I could not imagine waiting 3 years.
