Hi!

I am on Medicare, and therefore insurance was not an issue (it's covered). But it still took 7 weeks from info meeting to surgery, and I'm so glad because I had opportunities to educate myself.

Even so, I didn't learn all I really needed to know. My suggestion to you is to buy Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies - it has become my Bible. I got it on amazon.com, used (in excellent condition) for less than $12 including shipping. Some powerful info in there to make your journey all it can be.

Like others have said every program is different. In the program that I'm going through it takes about 6 months between classes and all of the appointments that you have to do including a psych eval. and sleep clinic visit. Really with everything that you will probably have to do 6 months will fly by and you'll be on your way in no time! Congratulations and good luck

Wink welcome

My insurance required 6 months of visits before I could even visit the Dr doing my surgery. It was an extreamly long process but I did it. Now I'm just waiting for the approval not to mention it took forever for my PCP to get the tests out that they needed to make sure I was healthy enough to go thru the surgical process. Just hang in there.
