Smile My new life begins tomorrow!

Well, tomorrow is the big day, an Open RNY at 10am. I am so excited, and really have not gotten even half as nervous as I thought I would... (yet).

I just keep focusing on that tomorrow is truly going to be the "first day of the rest of my life". A brand new life with a chance to do things right this time. You don't get a chance like that very often, and I plan on making the best of it.

I want to thank everyone here on this site for the wonderful support, encouragement and answers that I have gotten in the past two weeks, since I found this site.

It is amazing how much more I have learned here. I thought that I had learned a lot in the past 6 months that I have been preparing for this surgery, but it was just the tip of the iceberg.

Are there any last ideas from any of you to the question of...

The most important thing to remember after you have this surgery is.....

Thanks to all of you who take the time and respond and please be thinking of me tomorrow at 10am.

Well we are glad to see someone else on there way. We had surgery 5 days ago and are doing wonderful. I have lost ten pounds since surgery and Dorene has lost 7 pounds. We were already adjusted to the liquid part of the healing process and have found the smooth part kind of a blessing. We start on purees next week and we are looking forward to that. We will be praying that everything goes well.

Default The most important thing to remember is...

Jackie--Good luck tomorrow!

In my opinion, the most important thing to remember after you have this surgery is... that it's a tool, not a miracle. You still have to get up and exercise. You still have to make good choices. You still have to deal with the emotions that you've been using food to anesthetize.

That said - nothing beats the way you feel once the weight is lifted.
