Default IMPORTANT - Weight Loss Surgery For Dummies

For those of you who are thinking of WLS or have scheduled it -- and for those like me who are within 3 months of post op, and for those who are old pros, this book is an amazing one for all of us.

I got it used on Amazon.com, cost about $12 with shipping. It looks like it was never read, and maybe it wasn't! For me it is a total WLS Bible. I'm sorry I didn't have it two months ago.

FORTY FIVE lbs. gone forever!!

Smile I need it quick!

Thanks for the recommendation. I am going to order it today, and hope it will get here soon. Tomorrow is my big day... Open RNY at 10am. I am so glad I found this forum. I thought I had asked my doctor all of the important questions, but I am finding new questions every day, and have been able to find so many wonderful answers on here for all of them. And the support and encouragement everone offers each other is amazing. I thought my local support group was good, but this is even better. I will need both.

Hi Jackie!

We all need support, and in so many ways. This is a surgery that is life changing, and we want to gobble up all we can.

I started reading this book, and couldn't put it down. I even read the chapters that are, in life, behind me, and I found little pearls of wisdom in them that are good for me. I am not a recipe person, but I saw some amazing recipes that I am going to make.

The very best of luck to you! I will look forward to seeing you on the losers bench!!

Best regards,
Claire

Default I totally agree

It's a great book! I found it while browsing the shelves at Borders one day. I sat in a chair to review it and two hours later, got to the register to pay and take it home with me. I've referenced it many times over the past 6 months. It should be part of all of our WLS libraries. There are several other good books out there too. You could probably do a search on this forum to come up with some others. Happy reading to all!

Claire, I went to Borders last week and bought the book. It is great! I never knew there was such a book. I have found it VERY helpful already and I am only pre-op. Thanks for sharing the info! Renee
