10 days out of surgery. Dr. Shikora Tufts New England Medical Center. Awesome Doctor tiny cuts Lap RNY. Liquid Diet sucks but it is a means to an end so can deal with it.

Welcome glad to see you are doing ok. We have our surgery on Tuesday but we had to go on a two week liquid diet before surgery.

I am a 28 year old father of a beautiful 10 month old daughter. 1# reason for WLS. I worked out and dieted on and off for years but just couldn't keep the weight off long term. Doctor recommended WLS saying my health overall was good but would not stay that way if I carried around that much weight for much longer. Does anyone know when you are normally able to really start working out. Heavy cardio and weight training I have been walking at least a mile a day some days 2 or 3 miles with no pain or issues. Also I was wondering I have had really no feeling of fullness at all so far. I am not hungry at all, but I don't have any real feeling of fullnes after I eat at all.

You just mentioned the most difficult thing of all -- not ever feeling hungry and not feeling full. And one more thing - don't take that little drink after dinner (of water or anything!). These are the issues I deal with 7 weeks post op.

But if these are the only issues, hey, I'm in for the long haul!!!

I'm 7 weeks post op.

Welcome to the group!!

You were so smart to take care of this while you're so young! Your daughter will never know her daddy as an obese man. You'll be able to run and play and get down on the floor with her through all her growing years. Most people get the clearance for real workouts at about 4 weeks, with abdominal stuff later. That never feeling full, never feeling hungry thing is weird, huh?
