Welcome Kelly. I live in a Community where nobody has had my surgery. I live about 8-14 hours from some others on this board who have had the surgery and I get to meet some of them next week. As far as support systems - this is my support. I come here daily and feel as though people here know me better than I know myself some days. I come here with challenges, struggles and successes and I have been welcomed with open arms - as you will be too.

Congrats on your surgery date and as others said, read personal stories and it helps you prepare for your own surgery.

Welcome Kelly! You've made a very good decision joining our family. Please know that being apprehensive is very normal (we'd worry about you if you weren't). Take advantage of the search function--there's a wealth of info in older posts just waiting for you. Just remember to look at the date before posting to an old thread...some of those are 2 or 3 years old!

Good luck on your journey!
