We call it the "Last Supper" syndrome. We've all done it! Eventually you may be able to have all that stuff again- but just a taste! Every summer I wait to have fried clams, the nice, big whole belly ones. A half pint today would probably make me soooooo sick- but one clam will make me happy, I'm sure!
======Had to edit- not everyone can do even a taste; we're all a bit different. Ideally, you should be able to handle a taste.
Go for it- just don't make yourself sick. Also, if you can lose a few before surgery, it will make the surgeon's job easier- less fatty liver to move out of the way. I like the idea of making it easier for the man holding the sharp objects...
