Hi, welcome!
Congratulations! I went back to my desk job at 2 weeks...I was a little tired by the end of the day (okay, exhausted) but made it through for another 2 weeks. By 4 weeks, I was pretty much full steam ahead. definitelyh try to get this taken care of before you change jobs. Best of Luck to you!

Default I think it depends...

on what you do for a living and if you have any complications or not. Hopefully you won't. I too work in an office and was back to work in about a week and a half. Just had revision surgery and was back on the following tuesday. Truly was too soon, but I'm a dedicated die hard. Still get the midday sleepies. Good luck with getting everything done prior to changing jobs!

Hello and so glad you found us! Congratulations on getting approval. I had plenty of sick leave and I followed my dr's advice and took 6 weeks off. Even though I had the lap and not the open, he said to take the full 6 weeks if possible. He said I would be plenty busy learning my new diet and lifestyle and that it would be easier if I was home and devoting uninterrupted time towards that goal. I am glad I took the time. I never would have gotten in the fluids and protein if I was at work any earlier. It was a full-time job for me to get in all I was supposed to get in. I also was quite tired by early afternnon and napped everyday. When I went back after the 6 weeks, I went back half days for two additional weeks. I was having episodes of low blood sugar and low blood pressure and remained fatigued for quite a while. So, I recommend you follow your dr's advice and listen to your body. Best wishes on your upcoming surgery. Keep us posted.

Default Welcome!

I had open, was out 5 weeks. It's a desk job, and I felt I could have returned after 4 weeks, but I decided I needed the 5th week to practice on pureed and soft food. (I hate getting ill at work!) I'm glad I took that 5th week to increase my physical activity too. When I returned to work, I felt ready to be there. I was still pretty wiped out the first week back, but I think I bounced back better. I work for a pretty good company (MetLife), so that helps too.
