I'm wondering if my post prompted this....I dunno. I guess its personal and we all have to know for ourselves if we're doing (or trying to do) the best thing, the last option....

Thanks a lot Carrie, that was truly some great information.
i notice that it would take 4 hour under the general anesthesia.
there's no way i can go around that, i don't want to be put
to sleep.

Exactly it all comes down too it.. do we really want it or not? or is it worth it.. I believe it is we just have too overcome this. In the past I had suffered panic attacks mind you they are still there but not as bad as before I couldnt even be in the same room as other people I would run out, shopping was bad for me and I was never like this till something tramic happened in my life.
I also hope they dont use the gas mask too put you too sleep cause I would loose it cant handle anything being on my face. I never was one too wear like scarves just cant do it..wonder what they use??? Can anyone tell me?

Hi, I haven't yet had my surgery - still in the beginning stages of this process. From my understanding, anesthesia is given either by inhaling the anesthetic or by intravenous line. I think it just depends on your particular surgeon and the place where the surgery is performed.
Once you choose a surgeon, you can always ask beforehand. Good luck, Greg

Gastric bypass: Is this weight-loss surgery for you?
Great article good information on gastric bypass surgery. Thanks it is really helpful. Realistic expectation is must for those who are thinking of any kind of weight loss surgery. Weight loss surgery is the first step in the path of weight loss or one can call it the beginning of the process. The really tough time starts after surgery where every thing changes from food habits to your normal life style. Many changes have to be made and one need to do some regular exercises and follow the instructions of the surgeon properly. Miracle is not going to happen after surgery and will be slim. It is not like that, weight loss is really slow process. Therefore have patience and maintain regularity in your habits and life. Thanks
