Hi,

I am having my RNY lap on 9th May and can not wait - op does not scare me but what does is - 'will I be any happier ' ? Can anyone answer that ? Basically upto my early 30's i was mega skinny then food took over my life and the weight piled on - 5yrs ago i managed to lose 70lbs in 8mths but this was on tablets and minute i stopped them weight + more went on. Since then it has gone on and on and on - I have fab family but they all have will power and are slim so do not understand - anyway the other thing about me is I waffle on too much so please ignore me.

Jan

Welcome to our wonderful group.....waffle on! I will say that I am MUCH happier, but I was changing my life in many ways before surgery when I realized I was not happy. This surgery, and thinness does not keep your car from breaking down, the laundry from piling up, friends from hurting you, kids from lying, jobs from being boring, etc. But it did help my self confidence and my health....which gives me energy and a more positive outlook to deal with life's inevitables. And in turn, I have changed my life in a way that I am taking care of me and making better choices. So, the answer to your question is yes and no!? Now I have waffled on!

Hi Janette;

I work in a courthouse, so you can imagine the weirdness I see every day (my dad and brother was a cop, so I can appreciate what you go through!)

Welcome to the board. There are lots and lots of great people here. Ask all you want, you will always get a straight answer here.
