Default How about pepcid?

I take a tiny little pepcid pill every night before bed. And the two nights in the last 10 months I forgot to take it, I woke up VERY unhappy. The nausea was terrible.

I know at my one year appt. they will evaluate if I need to keep using it, and I'll be like - OH GOD _ YES PLEASE _ DON"T TAKE IT AWAY!!

The runs...hmm...You know - sometimes chronic runs are due to a blockage in the intestines. Have they run tests for that? Maybe it is partial, but enough to cause some of your symptoms??

Good luck dear. We're here for you and you need not appologize for ranting. It is your right!!

Default Did you change your user name?

Hi, Paige, welcome to the forum. You did change your username, right, from the beginning of the post to where you posted as Paige52?

Glad you're here, sorry it's been such a complex and painful journey. Keep fighting for your right to have this fixed, my dear. Nausea and pain ARE concrete symptoms and you need the doctor's help to figure it out. I take prevacid every day, and, as Gina said, I need it. Being drug-free of the narcotic drugs is wonderful, but pepcid/prevacid/nexium seem to be necessary for some us. There's no narcotic action, just freedom from pain.

Maybe I should go back on one of those. I did take prevacid for 3 months but it made the diareah (sp?) worse. Maybe if I take a pepcid... I'll try it starting tonight.

Yes I know the pain/nausea is concrete but the doc siad it could just be scar tissue/healing still needing to take place so unless there are other symptoms or the pain is acute, which it's not right now, it's just uncomfortable. Excpet this morning it seems to be a little worse. How sad that I actually want more pain so someone will take my case more seriously.....lol

You know I booked a trip to see my sister in Denver who uses an herbalist and to try acupuncture/message and a host of other "natural" holistic options

I hope the herbalist is good. She should ask you a million questions. Naturopathic doctors talk about poop a lot - so be ready.

I will say that I had a naturopath cure my endometriosis when no regualr doctor could do a thing about it! I asked my GBP surgeon to look for it and he said there was none there at all - amazing. (I saw photos of it from a lapriscopic surgery in 1998 - it was everywhere!)

Good luck and why not try the pepcid.

The scar tissue idea sounds reasonable, but sheesh...You shouldn't have to live this way. If the pepcid helps you wake up feeling okay, that could change your life right there.

GOOD LUCK!!!!

Welcome Paige and thank you for sharing your story. Though it isn't one I can relate to I think it is very important for people to know that complications are real and can happen to any one of us. Don't ever feel bad about venting. Most of us have come here to vent on more than one occasion. That's what we are here for...to support. I wish I had the answers for you, I truly do. I pray that you will be able to find the answers you need to make you pain free and healthy....but besides prayers going up for you, please know that you have found a place where you will never be alone.

Do you have a date yet? You're right this is an awesome place to get information. Thank you for the prayers I need them but then again don't we all!

I'm feeling much better these days, not quite normal yet but working towards it. It will happen one day, I'm confident of that.

I hope you use all the information on this board to help you make a decision because resutls like mine are not the norm and many many people are sooooo happy with their choice! I think someday I'll be happy with mine too at least that's what I'm working on in couseling....wink.
