Default Hello. Long post.

My name is Jina, I am 30 yrs old. I live in Davenport Iowa and have a beautiful daughter Stela, 9 mo. today, and a wife of 7 years. After a lot of years of putting myself last I am finally doing something for me. That would be gastric bypass. I started my first diet in 8th grade and have dieted every week since then. No joke.
I was ALWAYS the cute one, the bubbly one, the pretty one, the BIGGER one. Looking back (always 20/20, right?) I wasnt even big. I was just tall, big boobs and not a size 4 like my friends. SO, here I am...all these years later, dieting myself up to 268 as I sit here today.

Last fall I went into Low carb friends (a similarly set up forum) and made 2 great buddies...we have become like sisters, really. Well, I started the forum to lose 50 pounds by April (started in nov. 06) and I am about 4 pounds more than that now. Sad. I even started running this year, killing myself outside every morning...just to end up at this weight, again.

Well, the time has come. My surgery date is set for May 14, 2007. Meeting w/ surgeron next week...pay them a big amnt out of pocket before surgery ($3,000) and get it done.
I know what I am getting myself into, Kate (my wife) had it done a year ago and I am a medical technologist and several of my patients have gone through it. I know it's not going to be easy, but I am not scared...I am ready.
Hope to meet some great people along the way.
Peeking in here last night there are so many great people in here!!!
Well, that's it in a nut shell...I am long-winded, forgive the lengthy post.
Thanks for reading.

Default Wow

how exciting, all these fun responses. I am in AWE of you all already...isn't it the most amazing thing being a 'small' person after living over weight for so long??

Thanks for the welcome...I am having RNY lap (btw).
