So excited!!
Hello, My name is Leah and I've been checking out this site since Jan. I thought I'd introduce myself. I have just been approved for my surgery for May 11th by Dr Callery. I was approved on my first try and I am so excited and ready to start to be part of the losing side instead of the gaining side. I have been eating much smaller meals and chewing my food fully. The sipping has been difficult, but I'm getting used to it. I have already started taking my vitamins getting a head start. Any comments and advice is welcomed.

Welcome aboard Leah. I would say you are on a good head start. Big congrats on your re-birthdate. May 11th will be here in no time. Be sure to have a list of stuff you will need befre packing a bag. Also make a list of important numbers to drag with you to the hospital. Last but no least, don't buy to much of one thing pre-op because you may not like it as much post-op.

Well you've got less than a month
Now would be a great time to rid your pantry of 'white' stuff; flour, sugar and rice. Replace them with whole wheat, your favorite artifical sweetener and brown rice. Check out your library for cookbooks on high protein foods. Start walking or create an exercise regiment. Start shopping in the ethnic food isle at grocery stores. Practice NOW to put your fork down between bites of food. Avoid people who have a negitive additde towards this surgery, they are downers and you don't need the added stress. And finally, keep coming back here to be in touch with those of us who understand.
