Unhappy 8 Days Post - Sharp Pain like Contractions?

I'm now 8 days Post Op for GBP and the pain around my incisions was soooo much better until yesterday. I got up and felt a brief sharp stabbing pain. It took my breath away but was brief so I didn't worry too much about it. About an hour later I got up again and the pain came back but this time it wasn't brief. It was a sharp stabbing pain inside at one of the incisions. The pain was so intense I couldn't move, the area grew extremely hot, cramped (like a labor contraction) and then it felt like blood gushed on the inside around the incision. I screamed for my husband who was sound asleep at 4am on the other side of the house. He was ready to call 911 but the pain and cramp was starting to decrease and within 7 long minutes I was able to move again. I immediately took my Loratab and checked my blood pressure which was 179/92 (when I checked BP again 30 minutes later it was back at 104/82) I called the surgeon and he said to just come in first thing in the morning. It happened 3 more times before I was seen at 9:30am. They said not to worry that this could happen and that it would feel like "Bloody Hell". Has anyone else experienced anything like this???

Hmmmmmm.....wondering if you were having a muscle cramp....since they do have to cut through muscle and my doc told me for this reason that the incision on the left top would hurt more than any others. I hope it don't happen again for you!

I haven't had anything like that but have heard of people who get basicly cramps throughout their torso. Its basicly like a "charlie horse" in your leg but in your torso area. I'm not sure if that is what was going on for you but I'm glad you went to see your doctor and I hope that is the end of them for you.
