Red face 6 Days Post-Op (feels like 6 weeks)

I can't beleive it's only been 6 days since surgery. This has truly been the longest week of my life! Thankfully each day that passes I am feeling much better. Can you guys tell me when I won't feel as hungry? I'm full after my meal of just 2 ounces of cream soup but 2 hours later my stomach is growling again. Back to sipping...

It's most likely head hunger, sweetie, believe me, you probably aren't really hungry. We're just used to taking stomach growling as a signal--and you can't! A year and a half out, my stomach growls pretty much 24-7. My husband says mine talks to him at night!

Default Three words...

Egg Drop Soup.

It got me through the liquid stage. Strained, of course. Plus, you don't have to make it, just go to your favorite Chinese restaurant (or have someone else go) and order it!

It a rough few weeks, but it does get much better.

I thought I would have all this time once I had my ID to sign on the boards to ask lots of questions, read up on your experiences and prepare mentally for the surgery, but instead I was approved for my surgery by Blue Shield on the first try and scheduled for Surgery 6 days later. So here I am now. I look forward to learning more from you guys on what to expect next.

I'm really tired of sipping and broth

Lisa,
Welcome to our little community... It takes time and every persons experience is different. Each day you will or should feel better than the day before. Congratulations on your quick approval from insurance. It took me almost 2 years to get approved then it wasn't for the surgery I was pushing for. I totally agree with you on the sick of sipping and broth and jello ect... but know that "slow and easy wins the race" .... just take it day by day and one step infront of the other..... if you have any doubt or questions never second guess yourself about weather to call your surgeon or not. Alot of us on here have burned up the phone lines to our surgeons with concerns and questions, thats what we pay them for. We are here for you and hope that your road to recovery will be quick. Just follow the golden rules..... just remember as sick of it as you are.... sip sip sip, chew chew chew, you will thank yourself in the end!!!! good luck and congrats... Susie
