Default Hello.

Hello my name is Lisa, 35yrs. I am living in Holland with my boyfriend. I have three children. Kayla 15, Jt 9 and Isabel 5. I have been over weight my whole life. Often teased at great lengths by my sisters and friends. So to me it is some what normal to be this way. I would love to have the "tool" however, I am finding it quite difficult to get the surgery in holland. When I went to my doctor recently he told me I had to fix what was between my ears and then the weight would not be an issue. So, I am here to find encouragement, get information, and gain friends! I am friends to new member Andrea (20+ years now!) and sister to Linette!

Oh and my friends call me Sasa. Helps when there are other Lisa's here.

Welcome to the forum I wish you luck on your journey. Be aggressive with your doctor and if he wont budge try finding another one. This is your life and your health so you have to take it into your own hands. I know we grow attached to our docs though, so I would pray that he'd reconsider if this is something you really want to do.

Again welcome, look forward to hearing from you.

Default Welcome, Sasa!

Good luck! It's your turn to be tenacious, like a bulldog. Your doctor seems to think you can flip a switch in your head to make everything right. Yes, there may be underlying "head" issues, but GBS is a tool to use in conjunction with any other kind of treatment you may need, from counseling to knee surgery, for examples. Explain that to your doctor, ask him to work with you, not against you. Otherwise, get a new doctor!

Hi Sasa--you have mean sisters! You are right--we were extremely cruel to you and I have cried many tears over it--although I am sure not as many as you. I say you keep bugging the heck out of your doctor until they give you the surgery--don't know why those darn Dutch people are being so stubborn! Love you bunches!

Welcome. My family is from Holland and I work on genealogy in Den Hague and Scheveningen - family is VanHulsentop and Kruikemeier.

There are a few members here from Holland.

Best to you on your research for surgery.
