Hi everyone,

My name is Wendy and I live in New Jersey. I had GBS on March 26, and I'm just nearing the end of my hell week. I'm feeling better day by day. The first few days seemed to be better, days 4 and 5 were the toughest because I was having bad gas pain, but a little gas-x makes a world of difference. My husband has been great taking care of me too.

I'm 36 years old, have two sons..one who was just three and the other is almost four years old, and I'm a 3rd grade teacher.

A friend of mine pointed me in the direction of these forums and told me there was a wealth of support here.

Hi Wendy, Welcome to the loosers side.....I seen your post and was happy to see that we have the same exact surgery date.....I am from Ca. and last Monday on the 26th, I went in terrified, and am so happy it is finally over, and so is the first week which was alot for me to handle, but I know it will be well worth it.....I wish you well in your journey....Love Darlene

Default Welcome!

It's a great place - I got here shortly after my surgery as well... they're a terrific bunch. If you're interested in a particular topic, the search function is really good.

Thanks for all the welcomes!!! I forgot to mention earlier that I did develop one complication. I have phlebitis in my right arm, just above where the IV was. IT was really bad yesterday, but it seems better today. Hopefully it will go away soon.
