Default No longer lurking!!!!!

Hi, my name is Reagan and I am MO! I don't know why I felt the need to state that like it was an AA meeting or something! Anyway, I am not scheduled for surgery anytime soon I am just researching. I have been doing this (research) for a while and happened upon this website. I admit to lurking and feeling like I know most of you all already. The support you show to each other is tremendous and what has made me decide to no longer lurk. I am going for my first educational seminar in two weeks and at that time we will see if I qualify, what insurance pays, etc..... I have so many questions I don't know where to start.

Reagan~
There is no need to wait until the meeting in two weeks to find out if your insurance will cover gbp. Give a call to your insurance comany today and find out! There are so many insurance companys out there and so many exclusions that calling my insurance comany was the FIRST thing that I did. I have known people who went though all kinds of classes & meetings to only find out their policy did not cover gbp. Additionally, a lot of insurance companys want 6 months supervised weight loss with your PCP, in which case you should get on that asap. This is just opinion.
With all that being said.....Welcome! and good luck to you Reagan!

Default Also~

If you figure what your BMI is you can see for yourself if you qualify. There are a lot of bmi calculators on the web. Good luck!

Default Welcome!

What Lisa said- call your insurance company NOW! Tell them you are looking into GBS, will they cover it. My company pulled my policy info, gave me the whole list of qualifications over the phone. It helps a lot to have that up front, and, as Lisa said, if you need 6 months supervised weight loss or something like that, you can start working on it, or getting documentation together, etc. Good luck!
