Default Changes in my Life

Hi, I need to let this out, and I am hoping you all don't look at me in a bad way after this post......I did drugs for 7 years of my life, and I am proud to say that I have been drug free for 5 years now, since December 28th, 2001......I was very honest on the Doctors questionare, and with Kelley in Dr. Callery's office, she made me feel real good about the changes that I have made in my life, and doesn't look down on me for it, cause she says that it only proves that people do change for the better.....and I hope you all see it the way she did....and if any of you don't, believe me, I understand......but my fear is that when I go for my Physc evaluation this Thursday, all the paper work I had to fill out for it asks about all that, If I've ever used drugs....I know that I have to be honest, as I was planning to anyway, but my concern is, will it make a difference in wether I pass my evaluation or not? Can someone please help me.....Oh by the way, I also quit smoking 5 years ago.....and that was also a big step for me, since I started smoking at the age of 17.....but I want to live to see my Grandchildren grow up....and I will do what ever it takes to see that.......Darlene

Darlene, sweety tell her what you just told us. You have been clean for 5 years I don't see why that would be the reason you wouldn't pass your psych eval. Congrats on being clean for 5 years. I know everyday is a new day and it gets better. I am sure you are proud of your self. Walk in their with that confidence when you go in for your psych eval. Darlene I am rooting for you. You have been through a lot and it is time for things to come through for you. I don't think you have anything to worry about. You have some great people backing you.

Darlene, I wish you luck in your journey. You've gone down a tough road...you seem very determined to live a healthy life. That should shine through in your psych eval. Good luck!

Seems to me that you have demonstrated you have what it takes to confront a problem and make positive changes - which I suspect will be seen by the psychologist as proof you have the willpower to commit to the the new WLS surgery lifestyle.

Me using, was a way for me to keep the weight off, and it seemed to work, so off and on I was using too keep off the weight.....but I realized that at the same time, it was becoming a habit, that I didn't want in my life.....so I quit back in December of 2001 and haven't touched it since....I then decided, why not quit the smoking as well, then the weight just came on strong.....but I hope to get on track after this surgery with a happy and healthier life......I now, "Say No To Drugs"....Darlene

I really couldn't agree more here. I think the fact that you have been clean and sober for 5 yrs really says alot about you and what choices and roads you wish to go down. I think you're determination and will power to change you're life for the better is comendable and I am will to bet the doc will feel the exact same way.

This is just another step for you basically in getting you're life straight. I know that feeling cause I feel it every morning too.
