Denise - I agree with the others that your will and determination to change in the past will be looked favorably upon as I, too have a history of doing drugs. I stopped it cold turkey in 1997 after doing them for 3-4 years, and the psychologist merely touched on that and moved on. Do not worry my little peep

Wow, not sure how to handle the Psych thing, but I am very awed at all you've worked through. Just remember to try and set up alternate behaviors before surgery to try and help yourself after surgery. I think you will do awesome!! Congrats on all your accomplishments and good luck on your new venture.

I'm certain everything is going to be fine. YOu had an addiction, that you were able to overcome, food is also an addiction, that you can obviously overcome. You have proven, you have the fortitude and where-with-all to succeed, when given the right opportunity and tools. You should be VERY proud of yourself. This IS going to happen for you, you'll see.

Good luck Darlene.....please let us know how it goes. And you know when the struggles and demons hit during your journal, we will be here with love, support, and advice. Many of us will even give phone numbers. I have loved talking on the phone and even meeting some of the board folks. I am pulling for you.

Darlene,
Congrats on being clean and sober for 5 years, what an accomplishment!!! Just be honest with the psych eval, it shows that you are determined to make positive changes and have the wherewithall to stick with something. Best wishes!
