Hi,
My name is Tawna and I have been eagerly reading and soaking in the loads of informations here in the forum. Wow I can sure learn a lot from you guys.

I recently decided a few months ago after talking to some friends who have had gastric bypass surgery that this option was definitly the answer that I have been looking for. In early July I met with my family doctor and received a referral from him to see Dr. Nohr in Medicine Hat. I can't explain how I felt at that point. I felt like such a weight had been lifted and I felt happier and more full of hope than I have felt for a long long time.

I had heard that the wait was a fairly long one but hadn't anticipated the news that I got today after emailing a member of this site. Her wait from the time of referral to her consultation was almost two years and another year after that to her surgery date.

What a let down I feel as though the wind has been knocked out of my sails. How do I stay positive and hopeful with a wait like that.

I will keep visiting the forum though hearing all the advice and wonderful words of encouragement that you have for each other is so positive to read.

Best of luck to all of you in your weight loss journeys.

Tawna

Default Welcome!

Welcome Tawna! Don't be discouraged! There are a couple of other people on here that had Dr. Nohr. Maybe they can give you some advice on getting in faster. Did you read Lisa's Story? It's very inspirational and she's one of Nohr's patients.

Feel free to jump right into the discussions, ask questions and good luck in your wls journey!
