Default Hello

Hi all! My name is Christy and I live in Virginia. I have been reading posts here for a few weeks now and decided it was time to post one of my own.
I have not gotten my surgery scheduled yet and am about to go crazy waiting. I have been through all my testing and found I need to have my gall bladder removed. Although I begged, my surgeon will not do both at the same time so I have gall bladder done on 9/13/06 and then have to wait at least six weeks to set up the g bypass.
At my heaviest I weighed 320lbs and decided I had enough. I was tired of being tired, tired of being out of breath and tired of being so uncomfortable all of the time. I found out I had sleep apnea, which explained so much about never feelilng like I could get enough sleep.
I wonder if it means something that so far, I have not had a moment of feeling nervous about either of the surgeries. I guess in my heart, I know it's the right thing to do. I have been lucky that only one person I have told has been negative so far. Everyone else has been so supportive and at times I think are more excited that I am
For the writers of the postings I have read so far: Thank you for your advice and all your great ideas...I have learned so much from all of you.

Christy

Welcome to the forum Christy. I am sorry your surgeon won't do both surgeries at the same time, I have never heard of that...guess you learn something new every day! I know what you mean about tired or being tired! That is what I felt when I finally decided this was the right thing for me to do. Good luck and I look forward to watching you progress through this life change!

Welcome to the forum. Too bad you can't have both surgeries at the same time. I haven't heard that either. I am sure your surgeon has a reason for it. Best wishes to you and again welcome
