Hello everyone!
My name is Wendi.
I live in Northern California. I had my laprosocopic roux-en Y gastric
bypass July 24th, 06. I started out at 299 lbs with a BMI of 54.7
As of my last doctors appointment on August 14th I am now 265 lbs with a BMI of 48.5 Things are going well. I can't quite tolerate chicken or turkey yet but fish hasn't given me any trouble. Never thought I'd love refried beans so much. LOL Anyway, I've been cruising around this website for a few days. Lots of interesting, helpful and fun information. Everyone seems to be so friendly which is why I joined. Looking forward to trying some of the recipes when I get to incorporate more of a variety of foods into my diet.
For now it's eggs, refried beans, tofu..Oh my!

HI Wendi,
I grew up in Northern CA...you're doing great! I had my surgery a couple weeks before you, July 11, and as of yesterday, my 6 week visit, I've lost 27 lbs. I totally know what you mean about the refried beans, LOL. Eggs hurt my pouchie, but I can do the Hormel chili with or without beans, in the teeny tiny cup you can get at the store, about half of it, with no problem. I had some almonds tonight, and my tummy hurts now. I was cleared for raw veggies yesterday, and today for lunch I had a sliced tomato with that spray on salad dressing...it was delish!

Welcome, welcome........congrats on your weight loss. You'll get the hang of the food thing.....it just takes time. We'll be here to give ideas and encouragement, and there are tons of old posts on the subject.

Default Thanks!

Thank you very much. Can't wait to have fresh veggies...*drooling*
getting kinda tired of refried beans.. still eat them and like them but have to spice them up now more than ever. Grilled some tofu tonight for dinner. It was yummy. marinated in terriyaki sauce, a little Pam for the grill spray and grilled it till it was looking yummy.
